AWOL, a military term which means "Absence Without Leave", is a term used for runaway Unwinds, who are therefore missing their harvest and neglecting their duties as Unwinds. At the Graveyard, the surviving AWOLs who were present referred to themselves as Whollies, a term coined by Hayden Upchurch.
Ariana once jokingly stated that the meaning "alive without lectures" would apply to Unwinds more.
